Los Caminitos house
This home represents a unique blend of the old and the new and is located just outside of Santa Fe in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. I integrated many Santa Fe style materials such as raw plaster, stacked flagstone, and stained wood beams into the design of the home. On top of a ridge, this house has spectacular views of the mountains to the east and the west. The public spaces of the living room and dining room look to the views of the Jemez Mountains to the west, while the private space of the master bedroom looks to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east. The house is elongated because it follows the ridge and integrates an existing hill. All of the portals that open the house are curved to embrace the outdoor space and the natural landscape. This home was specifically designed and created to celebrate the life within while respecting and reflecting the specific place, the views and the surrounding environment.
